Architecture, 2021

After completing my plumbing apprenticeship, I spent a year abroad in Germany. Learning another language, quick trips to other countries and seeing what else is out there, had a profound impact on me. This year abroad, opened my eyes up as to how our cities influence our lifestyles and the daily decisions that we make. After returning to Canberra, and working on rows of the same poorly designed homes, in another seemingly endless suburb. I knew something had to change.

Not wanting to leave the construction industry but looking for something else, lead me to the UC open day. With the Architects in one corner and the construction managers in the other, it has been a fight in my head ever since. As to where I will end up, that will be balanced with where I believe that I can have the greatest impact. Until then, come on La Nina I need a rain day.
