Dena Moore

Dena Moore is a woman from the dusty pits of rural Australia. Her love for writing began in a year 4 English lesson when her particular teacher read her piece on ‘Charlotte’s Web’ to the class with a zeal she’d never met before. She doesn’t just love writing, she loves baking, the taste of cinnamon, her smart boyfriend, her one-eyed ginger cat, crocheting solely granny squares, her growing family, the strangers that smile when she walks past, a light cardigan, and a scalding bubble bath. Growing from turbulent and disorderly adolescent experiences, she’s found beauty in simple things, and the minutes that lead up to disaster. She achieved her Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing and Literary Studies in 2023 at the University of Canberra, living in the ACT for the duration of her education with no plans of vacating anytime soon. With her degree, she’s found a love for poetry, which works well with her love for people and the odd things we feel.
