My name is Elena Florez and I am currently a student at the University of Canberra studying a Bachelor of Interaction Design. I am in my final year and am looking forward to graduating and working full time in the design industry. My interest in design has evolved over the years and I am now looking towards interior design as my preferred area of interest.
For the past 5 years I have worked in the real estate industry and grown my love for interior architecture and design. I regularly worked with Canberra interior designers to style my client’s properties, which became one of my favourite parts of the job.
In March of this year I landed my dream graduate job as a property stylist, something I’d been hoping to achieve after I graduated. I’m loving being in the interior design industry and I can’t wait to further my education and experience in the field.

Transport Canberra Web Application Prototype - University Project 2022
For this project we were asked to identify a problem and develop an appropriate solution by enhancing the experience through UI design. I defined several problems with trip planning for ACT public transport through analysis and user research. The result of this project was a high fidelity prototype that addressed the keys issues of accessibility, integration, and navigation.
Property Styling - Gungahlin 2022
This is a two bedroom unit located in Harrison that I styled for sale in September 2022. A interesting challenge I faced while styling this home was the very small second bedroom with no window. The room felt small and dark so I opted for light blues and white on the bed while incorporating a bedhead, wall art, and a decorative ladder to give the room a visual hierarchy.
