Jen Leheny

Visual Communication Design, 2022

hi I’m Jen Leheny. I’m a graphic designer and I enjoy working in both print and digital design. I have been working in the design and marketing industry for a number of years and I have a high level of professionalism, enthusiasm and maturity.

I produce print and digital advertising, promotional materials, point of sale graphics, signage, and promotions to drive sales and awareness, and I ensure that the message is always consistent with brand guidelines. I understand that design is more than just making things look good – it’s about solving a problem and communicating in a meaningful way.

Dining Promotion - Banana Bread and a Small Coffee

Dining Promotion - Banana Bread and a Small Coffee

Detail from a food and beverage promotion, designed by Jen Leheny for Canberra Southern Cross Club. I was not provided with any photos of the food and coffee offering so I used a typographic style, textures, and colour to grab attention. As well as designing posters, the design was reworked into digital display screens, A-Frames, and point of sale graphics.

Magazine design for Canberra Southern Cross Club

Magazine design for Canberra Southern Cross Club

I produce a regular 20-24 page magazine for the members of the Canberra Southern Cross Club. I'm responsible for gathering the information, design and layout, editing, and much of the copywriting. I also produce print ready files and arrange for the magazines to go to a mailing house for posting to households.

Fairfield Iraqi Women's Group - concept and marketing materials

Fairfield Iraqi Women's Group - concept and marketing materials

The task was to identify and fill a need for a specific refugee cultural group within Australia, then design a suite of marketing materials for an activity that would address their pain points. I chose Iraqi women living in Australia without their husbands, alone and without support from their community, and designed a (fictional) free weekly community group for them to attend. The project includes a logo, pull-up banner, A2 poster, A5 flyer, DL flyer, and DL trifold brochure.
