Lucy McLennan
Corporate & Public Communication, 2022
Hello!
My name is Lucy McLennan and I will be graduating at the conclusion of 2022 with a Bachelor of Events and Tourism Management/Bachelor of Communications and Media.
I am currently working as the Corporate Sales and Events Manager for Gema Group, a national events and catering company. I am lucky enough to work with sporting teams such as the ACT Brumbies and Canberra Raiders, GWS Giants and Cricket Australia. Stakeholder management is my area of interest, I love being able to form genuine connections with my clients and build strong working relationships with those around me.
I have studied part-time while working full-time, and I know that my five years studying at the University of Canberra has been incredibly valuable. I have learned so many skills that I have been able to transfer into the workplace.
I love to spend my weekend getting out and enjoying all of the events and tourism offerings Canberra provides. I also love to travel whenever I get the opportunity.

Feel the Burn was an integrated campaign strategy designed in response to a brief from the Burns Club in Canberra. Within our group of four members we were to research, design and present this strategy to the client. There were several facets of the campaign including research, media strategy and evaluation. This poster is a mock up of the centenary event designed as part of the campaign, and was created in collaboration with one of my peers, Yasmin Manning.

Bespoke Burgers
A creative brief was assigned to our team which required us to research, design, implement and evaluate a social media strategy. The Bespoke Burgers account was created to promote the vibrant hospitality scene within Canberra. The account was published and gained significant traction. Temporary content in the form of Instagram Stories were also utlised to supplement the campaign.

Is Public Relations Just Fake News?
This assessment asked for an opinion piece on the topic: What is PR? This piece was to be published in the online news outlet Junkee. Various facets of public relations were to be discussed including ethics, culture, propaganda and the role of PR in democracy. I chose to take an approach that I hoped would engage audiences while providing insight into the complex world of public relations
