Global Studies, 2022

My name is Mabinta Jallow I am currently undertaking an undergraduate bachelor’s degree in Global Studies at the University of Canberra. Over the course of study i have thoroughly enjoyed learning the course discipline, to which I have gained an abundant number of skills and knowledge to apply within the workforce. My skills include critically analyse information about global concerns, articulate a reflective and informed understanding of global ethical and social justice concerns as well as effectively using written and spoken communication.

In my past 5 years I have been fortunate enough to complete work experience within Domestic Violence support services and local courts. In previous job positions i have worked as a support worker and currently work in a community-based company.

To further my skills gained from this degree, I would love to reach my goal of working in the child protection field, where I can apply a range of skills/knowledge learnt, along with my passion for protecting and supporting disadvantaged children and communities. This degree has furthered my social networks within the academic community, and I am looking forward to making some more connections once graduating.
