Maddi Green

Journalism, 2023

I have just completed a double degree in Journalism and Film Production at the University of Canberra. During my academic journey, I actively engaged with the University of Canberra’s student journalism platform, The Owl, and contributed to UC’s student radio, UCFM.

In 2022, I had the privilege of interning at ABC Canberra, and this experience paved the way for my current role as the Reporter & Journalist for Goulburn and the surrounding regions at the Capital Radio Network, a position I secured in 2023.

In addition to my radio and journalism work, I am also involved in podcast production. I currently produce, host, and edit the @TheCBRWomen podcast, and I am responsible for production and editing on a new podcast hosted by the Wombat Protection Society.

Alongside my journalism and media roles, I proudly own Maddi Green Photo & Film, a venture I initiated in 2020.

When I’m not capturing moments through the lens or pursuing the next big story, I indulge in my passion for travel, sports, and quality time with my family and friends.

Maddi Green Photo & Film

In 2020, I launched a photo and film business at just 19, diving into entrepreneurship without any prior experience running a business. This decision was marked by significant challenges, including time management, prioritisation, and the ever-present threat of burnout. Despite these obstacles, I was driven by the belief that building this business would provide valuable experience and a strong portfolio. Now that it is 2023, three years later I have captured hundreds of smiles, tears and laughs and I am very proud of this business.

The pelvic health awakening

The pelvic health awakening

For many women, discussing the topic of our bodies’ reproductive system is not something that arises in casual coffee conversation. Instead, it’s often a subject confined to private discussions behind closed doors. But what if this taboo were to change? What if we openly discussed pelvic health, periods, sex, and how these aspects affect our everyday lives in public spaces? Could this lead to faster diagnoses for conditions like Endometriosis, reduce spending on pain relief medications, and diminish the frequency of women being turned away from medical practices? This article is published on The Owl.
