Matthew Liu
Interior Architecture, 2022
I was born in Canberra and have lived here my entire life, now studying an interior architecture degree at the University of Canberra and working as a student interior designer at DJAS Architecture. I love creating visualisations that get people invested in designs, anything from physical pieces such as drawings and finishes boards to digital mediums such as photoshop renderings and 3D models.
Inside and outside of work I love using technology whether its playing video games or bringing designs into the digital space. This love of technology is not only a passion but has developed into a great skill, I have become highly skilled at learning a variety of programs very quickly such as: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Indesign, Adobe Illustrator, AutoCAD 2D, Autodesk Revit, Rhinoceros 3D and Enscape.
I am excited to see how the industry will use new and emerging technologies and how client demands will change to suit. I am dedicated to pushing myself to the forefront in terms of my design skills and understanding of the industry whilst utilizing and developing my technical skills to their maximum.

Selected Portfolio

National Zoo & Aquarium High Ropes Course
The National Zoo & Aquarium tasked us with conceiving and designing an additional program within the zoo as another revenue stream.

National Zoo & Aquarium Accommodation
The National Zoo & Aquarium also wanted 3 accommodation spaces with the ability to be separate or joined and a similar language to the rest of the design.

National Zoo & Aquarium Function Centre
The third design was a multipurpose function centre able to house either 1 large conference or multiple smaller conferences at once.

National Zoo & Aquarium Dining Hall
As part of the high ropes course and accommodation I designed a dining hall to complete the design as the 2 programs were positioned quite far from the zoo.
