Myron Meates
Digital Media, 2022
Myron attained his Year 12 Certificate @ Lake Tuggeranong College in 2005, before entering the workforce and qualifying for the bridging course (UC Connect) in 2006. After raising his UAI to 70%, Myron originally enrolled in Media Arts & Production @ UC in 2009-10, passing 3 introductory units before deferring and completing;
- Statement of Attainment in Electronica Performance
- Certificate 4 in Music Electronica
- Certificate 4 in Music Business
- Pro Tools 101 & 110
- @ (the former) CIT Woden Campus.
Myron re-enrolled @ UC in 2017, and between 2017-2021 completed elective units in Graphic Design, Web Design, Culture & Landscape Systems. He opted to continue with the former – Bachelor of Media Arts & Production, instead of adopting either of the newly established Film Production & Digital Media degrees, although retained a very Digital Media focus in his class selection, which included many units related to film studies.
In his spare time, Myron operates a freelance Graphic Design & Videography business (Conceptual Notion), which specializes in music videos and cover art – on Facebook & Instagram. He is also an active musician, who produces within the Electronic/Hip Hop genre for his solo outfit (Myronizinfektious) and duo (Quarantine), alongside UC Creative Writing 2020 Alumni (Yarndi).
Myron’s portfolio includes a debut short film entitled (My Heart Grows Colder) presented during Illuminated Bits (2020), a narrative driven Digital Story discussing Australian Culture (My Culture) presented during Indigenous Culture & Digital Contexts (2021) and more recently an introspective study of life during Quarantine (I’m not Lonely) presented during Work Integrated Learning – Arts (2021). His new (Quarantine) music video (Celebrate this Beautiful View) was shot on vacation in his mother’s hometown, Fremantle and was released in mid-October – both on YouTube and as the primary submission for Professional Evidence (Arts). It features subtitles to ensure accessibility for those who suffer from a disability or are hearing impaired.
