Personal Branding

Personal Branding

To create an identity for oneself can be very challenging, but this personal branding has captured who I am as a designer. The use of ‘Olivia Kate’ plays tribute to the business I created at the age of 15 when I was selling my own watercolour paintings. This was an important aspect of the brand I wanted to show and the logo can be easily shortened to display ‘OK’. The use of colour to underline the letters allows it to have a playful effect, however. the logo can be black and white allowing for a professional tone.

Wayfinding Kiosk

Wayfinding Kiosk

An interactive kiosk for the Hotel Realm lobby would solve current foot traffic issues around the reception area. The kiosks would be positioned at commonly used pathways identified in the circulation analysis to minimise the need for people to ask for assistance and find their event with ease. The kiosk aligns with the current Hotel Realm branding and will be noticeable, yet well-placed within the lobby.

Handlettering

Handlettering

The purpose of this brief was to choose a phrase and represent it in the opposite manner. I used a phrase in French that directly translated to ‘a******’ in English. This creative brief developed my illustrator techniques and deepened my understanding on how vectors work. This assessment was done at the University of Newcastle before I transferred to UC, however, it has influenced my time at UC when thinking outside-of-the-box.

ACT Coat of Arms

ACT Coat of Arms

The new Coat of Arms aimed to modernise the current ACT Coat of Arms to represent Canberrans, whilst reflecting the Nation’s Capital. It incorporated symbols used by the Ngunnawal People to represent Canberra’s Traditional Owners and included elements that are recognisable to Canberrans with the main goal to bring the community together. The new design reflected the information provided within the surveys conducted by the ACT Government on certain elements or symbols that are preferred by the wider community, while also including symbols important to young Canberrans.
