Social media design for Radio 1RPH
Joining the social media team at Radio 1RPH revealed the need for volunteers to understand the impact of social media on listeners and campaigns. A majority of the social media posts were 200 words with a picture from google. After looking over the social media statistics and posts, I was told to pitch a presentation on developing posts for the social media team. Therefore, I made 14 graphic designs for social media posts, all uniquely developed according to the current programs going to air at the radio station. The purpose of this was to bring Radio 1RPH’s social media to a younger audience whilst maintaining the appeal of an older audience. After pitching these ideas to the social media team, it very quickly became apparent I would head the social media committee with feedback from other volunteers along the way. Each time I generated an image, I would pitch it to other volunteers and utilise their input, such as colouring and adding the radio station frequency. These images are currently being posted according to a social media post schedule I drafted during my time at the station. The posts are shared on Instagram (I created an Instagram account for the radio station), which automatically posts to Facebook and Twitter. Therefore, only one post is needed to share on all three platforms.
