Interior Architecture, 2021
Hi! I’m Rebeka, I am graduating from the University of Canberra with an interior architecture degree.
I have always been a creative and artistic person, I was fortunate enough to take an architecture class in school when I was 15. This was when I found my love for all things design, it became a place where I was able to express myself. I love industrial and rustic design but also love the simplicity of minimalism. I love being wild and unique with design while also keeping it practical. I am passionate about developing 3D renders I truly believe it elevates every design and also helps clients visualise their future space.
As an interior designer, I believe good design has the power to capture people and influence their emotions, that is what I want to strive towards.

Selected Portfolio

Page Turner - Exhibition
Page Turner is the design I created for my graduation studio. The client was the NCACL and we were required to design a children's book exhibition within the context of a library. The driving force of this design was the tying of old and new, honing in on nostalgia and imagination. The main exhibition design is based on the turning pages of a book, the pages of the book become the walls of this exhibition. The cuts outs in the walls enable people to be able to walk through the displays, immersing themselves in the “book”. Page Turner is a place where old memories can be passed on to the younger generation, but also a space where new memories are created.

Page Turner - Reading Fort
The reading fort is a private supplementary space that feeds of the exhibition. Inspired by the blanket forts I used to create as a child I took the same design language and upscaled it to create one large fort. There are holes cut out in the fabric to create opportunity to play with light and shadows.

Inside Out - Main Space
Inside out is a flexible learning space I designed for the University of Canberra. The task was to take the old FAD workshop and repurpose it into a flexible space in which students can learn, events and exhibitions can be run and an “agency” style space for staff to work in. My design was drawn from nature, I pushed the concept of how to bring the outside in, while also maintaining an industrial look. I incorporated soft “mound” like seating as well as tree-like structures. These were able to be made by suspending “moss” panelling to the ceiling.

Inside Out - Hot Desking Space
As part of the agency space I created a hot desking area.
