Samantha Quilliam

Visual Communication Design, 2022

I’m currently in my penultimate year of my degree in Visual Communication at the University of Canberra. I have my Cert II in Information, Digital Media and Technology and I’m an APS4 Graphic Design Support Officer at Services Australia.

I am passionate about design and marketing, because every project holds a new and exciting challenge to explore different topics and develop my skills. I particularly enjoy developing designs with continuity such as branding, styles guides and suits across multiple platforms.

I love how effective visual communication can be used to impact positively on other people’s lives and initiate social change. Seeing the final result of this type of design come together and witness how important it is to the audience is such a rewarding experience.

I am looking forward to continuing my career in design and marketing, enhancing my technical skills, developing meaningful visual communication, collaborating with others and facing new challenges.

Jugger Canberra

The following designs showcase the range of promotional materials I have developed for the sporting club Jugger Canberra. The designs have a consistent branding style and simple information for new and current players.

QuilCorp Branding

QuilCorp Branding

QuilCorp is a newly established technical writing agency. I was tasked with developing their visual branding and identity through a logo and examples of brand implementation. By highlighting the company’s positioning, goals and target audience, I developed an identifiable yet simplistic and professional branding style.

Let's Play Branding & Brochure

Let's Play Branding & Brochure

Let’s Play is a playgroup dedicated to supporting young migrant families. I was tasked with developing the group’s visual branding and creating a brochure to invite new families to the group. By developing an understanding of the audience and exploring the group’s goals, I developed branding that suited the group’s mission and a welcoming brochure highlighting the group’s focus on learning, family and community.
