Visual Communication Design, 2021

Hello!

I am completing a Bachelor of Design in Visual Communications this year, and have previously earned an Advanced Diploma of Graphic Design from CIT. I am looking forward to working with organisations to create visual identities, share stories and connect with our audience.

I love working with people and I’m a problem solver at heart. With a background in business analysis and process improvement I am highly organised and keep a strong focus on purpose and function.

I aim to find a full time position in Canberra that works in a variety of graphic design areas such as identity and branding, marketing and advertising, publications, packaging, web and digital design, motion graphics, video production and photography.

Thanks for viewing my work, I hope you enjoy the exhibition.

I'm looking for a job.

John Hawkins Logo and Style Guide

John Hawkins Logo and Style Guide

Created for a landscaping and carpentry business located in Queensland. John was in the process of changing his business name and services, from up-cycling outdoor furniture, to focus on landscaping with outdoor carpentry as an additional service. The target market is home owners aged 30-70 who care about home, lifestyle and their environment. The work included creating a client brief, mood-board, choice of logo concepts, a final logo with variations, a style guide to document colours, typography and logo use, and business card design.

Our task was to research a specific refugee group that has settled in Australia and create a solution for one of their pain points as well as marketing for that solution. My chosen group was Iraqi mothers who can not attend English classes due to family commitments. Learning English is of key importance for integrating into their new community. The solution is LEAH, learning English at home, where the students receive a device with free internet and a language app that also has online social connections. The visual elements were chosen to be something the group would recognise and connect with. The fonts were available in multi-languages for consistency when transcribed.

Packaging Design

Packaging Design

A modern re-brand for a classic pantry staple. All other brands have traditional busy designs, yet this item deserves more attention on the supermarket shelves. Designed to catch the eye of busy mums who want to create quick and healthy meals for the whole family to enjoy.
