Journalism, 2022
Hello, my name is Tzu-Jung Clio Yang. I am a student journalist at the University of Canberra.
I have always had a passion for writing and reading news. Through this, I discovered journalism. I love discovering and publishing stories while getting engaged with the local community.
My employability skills are communication, multimedia news production, investigative writing, audio and video editing, trilingual translation (English, Mandarin and Spanish), and social media promotion. I am skilled in the use of editing software, including Adobe Rush, Avid, Audacity. In terms of publishing tools, I am skilled in using WordPress’s Content Management System and Canva to optimize the quality of posts.
Having student journalist experiences publishing in UnCover online magazine and NowUC website, as well as on my personal page Flaxseed Studio, has given me a sense of achievement in bringing meaningful stories to the UC community. As a trilingual person having experiences living in Taiwan and Mexico, I have found multicultural issues and migrant stories are the specific topics I want to dig into in my future career. Connecting to the broader Chinese and Latino communities in Australia and revealing their stories is my future goal, so I can contribute to society through my language skills.
